Continuing Education (CEs): This course provides 4 hours of continuing education credits for Certified Prevention Specialist and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor credentials.

Targeted Audience: Registration is restricted to 2-3 seats per each organization or agency. County coordination teams, community coalitions, and evidence-based providers are all welcomed to join! After registering, participants will receive a confirmation with the Zoom link for the event. Materials for this workshop will be distributed a day in advance from the event. Participants must have access to Zoom and use audio and video to join the event. This workshop has been designed to be highly interactive in order to build off the depth of knowledge and experience so many of you have. Participants must attend both training days to receive their Certificate of Completion.

Trainer Information: Kris Gabrielsen, MPH has worked in the substance misuse prevention field since 1991. She was the Associate Director of the Western Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT), co-created the first Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist Training (SAPST) curriculum, and co-authored the textbook, Substance Abuse Prevention: The Intersection of Science and Practice. She facilitates learning opportunities with states and communities across the nation to bridge the gap between research and practice, assisting prevention professionals in maximizing their effectiveness.
