Certificate: The SAPST is a 37-hour training (including a pre-training, online session). The hours are approved by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division for the Certified Prevention Specialist.

Overview:
A professionally trained workforce is extremely important to the continuing improvement of substance misuse prevention services in Hawai'i. The Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training (SAPST) curriculum is designed to provide up-to-date, evidence-based information to the prevention field. It is an interactive training that gives particpants knowledge on the application of prevention science to the larger community.
Target Audience:
The SAPST is open to prevention, treatment, and other youth-serving professionals who want to learn more about the theory and practice of the substance abuse prevention field.
Neighbor Island Travel Scholarships
Travel scholarships will be available to professionals from Hana, Moloka'i and Lana'i on a first-come, first-served basis.
