Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training (SAPST)-Maui & Kaua‘i Providers

Description: A professionally trained workforce is extremely important to the continuing improvement of substance misuse prevention services in Hawai'i. The Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training (SAPST) curriculum is designed to provide up-to-date, evidence-based information to the prevention field.  It is an interactive training that gives participants knowledge on the application of prevention science to the larger community.  

Date/Time: August 16th, 19th, 30th, and September 2nd.
Location: Zoom
Cost: Free
Certificate: The SAPST is a 31-hour training (including the prerequisite online training).  The hours are approved by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division for the Certified Prevention Specialist credential. See participant requirements below.

Participant Requirements: This training will be a virtual training held on the Zoom platform. Participants must have access to Zoom and the ability to have audio and video capabilities, as the training is interactive in nature. Participants must complete a prerequisite online course prior to the first day of training, which will be sent to the participant after registering for the course. Participants must attend all 4 days of training to receive their Certificate of Completion

Target Audience: The SAPST is open to prevention, treatment, and other youth-serving professionals who want to learn more about the theory and practice of the substance abuse prevention field. This training is only available to providers and stakeholders residing in Maui County and Kaua‘i County.
