Facilitator:
Rick Collins specializes in community organizing, training, and policy advocacy related to drug and alcohol misuse prevention. He is President of Collins Consulting LLC and the current Coalition Director of the Maui Coalition for Drug-Free Youth, the Hawai'i Alliance for Drug-Free Communities, and the East Hawai'i Drug-Free Coalition. His experience includes working as a community coordinator for the Maui Coalition for Drug-Free Youth, providing training and coaching to new and emerging coalitions, implementing environmental prevention strategies, and leading community mobilizing efforts. He provides training and technical assistance to community coalitions and prevention professionals on topics related to coalition development, environmental strategies, prevention ethics, and the Strategic Prevention Framework. Rick is a certified instructor for the Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training (SAPST) and Ethics in Prevention courses.

Rick's passion is in environmental prevention work focused on creating and maintaining responsible drug and alcohol policies that keep youth safe and drug-free. Rick is a Certified Prevention Specialist and holds a MS in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University and a BA in Religious Studies from the University of Dayton.

Target Audience:
Certified Substance Abuse Counselors (CSAC), Certified Prevention Specialists (CPS), and applicants; those with other ADAD professional credentials; and anyone involved in the human services field.
