Quarterly Tri-Isle Prevention Network Meeting (Maui County)

Overview:
This will be an opportunity to network with others professionals, hear what's happening in Maui County related to substance abuse prevention, and participate in some hands-on training. This meeting's training topic will we Group Experiential Games.
Participants will learn how to facilitate group icebreakers, team-building, and problem-solving games. These games are fun and easy to facilitate, and are applicable for both youth and adults. Participants will learn how to utilize the games to bring them back into their respective work places to facilitate relationship building and teamwork with the youth and adults with whom they work.

Training Objectives:
Identify concrete ways to recruit new, community-based members tied to specific coalition roles and responsibilities
Identify the data needed to make the case for policy change and evaluation of the effectiveness of change
Identify specific strategies and activities related to policy goals that tie to the coalitions’ logic models
Engage grassroots, non-agency support in their policy efforts
Employ Policy Action Steps 1-3 in their communities
Complete an initial planning process on how to collaborate on state-level environmental strategies to address youth alcohol problems.

Audience: Substance abuse prevention providers, educators, and treatment professionals who work with youth, adults, and/or families in-group settings.
Cost: Free. Lunch will be provided.
Certificate: 6.5 ADAD-approved continuing education credits (CEUs) for Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and Certified Prevention Specialist certifications.
